Step into a world where elephants protect tiny planets, cats wear striped hats, and imagination has the power to change everything. Seussical brings together some of Dr. Seuss's most beloved characters—including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, Mayzie La Bird, and JoJo—in a whimsical, heartfelt musical adventure filled with unforgettable songs, colorful characters, and powerful lessons about kindness, courage, and believing in yourself. When Horton discovers a tiny world living on a speck of dust, he becomes determined to protect it; even when no one else believes him. Along the way, audiences are reminded that every voice matters, every person belongs, and that extraordinary things can happen when we dare to imagine.

Filled with humor, heart, and larger-than-life storytelling, Seussical is a celebration of creativity, community, and the power of seeing the world through someone else's eyes.

Tuition

Tuition is $700. To reserve a place in the production, a $100 non-refundable registration fee is due at the time of enrollment. The remaining balance is due prior to auditions.

A True Mainstage Experience

As ACT's season mainstage production, Seussical brings together performers from across our entire age range for one extraordinary theatrical experience. Students ages 6–18 will collaborate as artists, storytellers, mentors, and teammates throughout the rehearsal process. Younger performers will have the opportunity to learn from more experienced peers, while older students will develop leadership skills by helping to create a welcoming and supportive community for everyone involved. This unique multi-age environment reflects one of ACT's core beliefs: that meaningful learning happens when young people grow together

Artistic Expectations

Seussical combines acting, singing, movement, imagination, and ensemble storytelling in a fast-paced and highly creative rehearsal process. Participants will be challenged to think creatively, embrace larger-than-life characters, and bring energy and commitment to every rehearsal. Because the world of Seuss is filled with unique creatures, imaginative settings, and unexpected adventures, students will be encouraged to take artistic risks and explore new ways of expressing themselves on stage. Whether portraying a Whoville citizen, Jungle creature, Bird Girl, Wickersham Brother, or one of the show's featured characters, every performer plays an essential role in creating the magic of the production.

Content & Themes

At its heart, Seussical is a story about empathy, inclusion, perseverance, and the importance of standing up for others. The musical explores themes of friendship, belonging, imagination, self-confidence, leadership, and community responsibility. Through Horton's determination to protect the Whos and JoJo's journey to embrace his creativity, audiences are reminded that every individual has value and that our differences make us stronger. The production is appropriate for audiences of all ages and offers meaningful lessons for children, teens, and adults alike.
